Desktop Client Overview
The Smart Time Tracker desktop client is an application that tracks time on your computer and sends reports to your online dashboard. Use it to start or stop tracking at any time and to quickly check how much time you’ve tracked for the day.
Here’s how to utilize the desktop client and its features:
- Open the Smart Time Tracker desktop client via its desktop or tray icon. The client shows the current tracked time and provides additional options.
- To pause or continue tracking, simply click the 'Start Tracking/ Stop Tracking' button.
- Use the 'Open Online Dashboard' button to access your dashboard in a web browser for more detailed reports and settings.
- Access your account settings to log out or check for invitations by clicking the ellipsis (three dots) near your account email.
- Desktop Timer is a small pop-up window that stays on top of all windows, displaying your work duration. It can be in 3 views; to switch, double-click the timer.
- You can configure the Timer’s visibility by changing the 'Show timer on top' option:
Always: Always visible at the top.
On Activity Switch: Only visible when switching between activities for a few seconds before disappearing.
Never: The timer is hidden. - For quick actions, use the right-click menu on the tray icon.
